Tropical Storm Amang made landfall over Dolores, Eastern Samar around 3 p.m. Saturday, just hours after Pope Francis held mass for survivors of super typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban City.

State weather bureau PAGASA, in its latest advisory issued 5 p.m., said the tropical cyclone is carrying estimated rainfall of between 7.5 to 20 mm per hour (heavy to intense) within its 400-kilometer diameter.

Amang (international name Mekkhala) is packing maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 130 kph.

Public storm warning signal no. 2 has been raised over the following areas:

LUZON: Catanduanes, Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, southern Quezon including Polillo Island, Sorsogon, Masbate, Burias Island including Ticao Island.
VISAYAS: Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar and Biliran.

Public storm warning signal number 2, meanwhile, is hoisted over the following areas:

LUZON: Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Quirino, Isabela, rest of Quezon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Romblon.
VISAYAS: Leyte, Southern Leyte, extreme northern Cebu including Bantayan Island and Camotes Island.
